How to care for your cashmere, and let it age beautifully.

Cashmere is one of nature’s most delicate and precious fibers. With mindful care, it becomes softer, more personal, and more beautiful over time.

1. Washing

Less is more. Cashmere does not require frequent washing.

  • Hand wash in cold or lukewarm water (max. 30°C)

  • Use a gentle wool or cashmere detergent

  • Gently press the garment and avoid rubbing, wringing, or twisting

  • Rinse thoroughly and reshape while damp

2. Drying

Cashmere should always be dried naturally.

  • Lay the garment flat on a clean towel

  • Keep it away from direct sunlight and heat sources

  • Allow it to dry completely before wearing or storing

  • Avoid hanging, as wet fibers may stretch

3. Storage

Proper storage helps preserve the shape and softness of cashmere.

  • Fold garments instead of hanging them

  • Store in a cool, dry place

  • Use natural moth repellents such as cedar or lavender

  • Ensure the garment is clean before long-term storage

4. Pilling

Pilling is natural and part of cashmere’s early life.

  • Pilling usually appears in areas of friction

  • Use a Wooden Cashmere Fabric Comb to gently remove surface pills without damaging the yarn

  • Regular combing helps maintain a smooth surface

  • Pilling gradually reduces over time with wear and care

This is not a defect, but a normal stage in the life of genuine cashmere.

5. Airing & Refreshing

Often, cashmere does not need washing at all.

  • Air the garment after wearing

  • Light steaming can help refresh and relax the fibers

  • Allow the garment to rest between wears

  • Let the fiber breathe and recover naturally

A final note

Cashmere is not meant to remain “new” forever.
It is meant to age with you — quietly, softly, and honestly.

With time and care, it becomes a companion rather than just a garment.
